Eid has arrived, but the question is: are we truly prepared for Eid? Or have we limited Eid merely to new clothes, delicious food, and entertainment?

Ramadan has taught us to endure hunger, control our nafs (desires), and make sacrifices for Allah. But as soon as the Eid moon appears, are we forgetting these lessons? Has there been any change in our hearts? Or are we returning, as before, to a life of injustice, sin, and heedlessness?

Today, Eid is a day of joy for us, but is this joy for Allah’s pleasure, or merely for the satisfaction of our own nafs? Have we considered whether Allah will be pleased with us this Eid, or displeased with our actions?

Tawheed teaches us that we are no one’s slaves except Allah; we are only His servants. But what is reality? We fear people, perform acts for show, yet how much importance do we truly give to Allah’s commands?

Eid brings us together in one row; it removes distinctions between rich and poor, young and old. But as soon as the Eid prayer ends, do we not return to the same divided society—where injustice, corruption, and violence prevail—and remain indifferent? Is that the lesson of Eid?

Eid is not just a day of joy; Eid is a day of decision. Today, we must decide whose path we will follow: the path made by humans, or the path shown by Allah? Ramadan has taught us sacrifice, self-restraint, and Taqwa (God-consciousness). If, even after Eid, we fail to change ourselves, it means we are still enslaved by desires.

Tawheed is not just verbal expression; Tawheed means acknowledging Allah as the only Ilah (Legislator) in every aspect of life. Are we truly doing that? Or are we still slaves to man-made rules, societal pressure, and superstition?

No more. This time, we must decide not to follow the wrong paths made by humans. We do not want the rule of injustice; we want the guidance given by Allah in the Qur’an. Eid unites us, but are we reflecting that unity in our lives? Or do we, after prayer, again become divided, weak, and submissive to injustice?

Today, awakening is required. Today, we must stand against injustice, shirk (associating partners with Allah), and kufr (disbelief). Today, we must pledge to accept the truth, no matter how difficult it may be.

Remember: Eid is not just new clothes; Eid is to embody the lessons of Ramadan and begin life anew— a life where there is no place for falsehood, no room for injustice, only the path of Allah, the path of the Qur’an.

Let us pledge this Eid:

  • We will change ourselves.
  • We will abandon false paths.
  • We will make Allah’s commands the only guide of our lives.

For there is only one path of truth, and on that path lies ultimate victory.
