Faridpur Correspondent: Members of Hezbut Tawheed in Faridpur have submitted a memorandum to the local administration, demanding security. They alleged that the accused in a case filed over an attack on the organization’s members are attempting to influence the investigation by openly organizing a human chain and, under its cover, planning to create a mob.

On Wednesday (7 January 2026), a delegation led by Faridpur District President of Hezbut Tawheed, Rezaul Karim, submitted the memorandum to the District Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police.

The memorandum alleges that on 28 December 2025, some local miscreants launched a sudden attack on several members of Hezbut Tawheed at Rajbari Road intersection in Faridpur. In the attack, two members – Sujan Sheikh and Jihad Molla – were seriously injured. The victims subsequently filed a case against the attackers.

It further states that the accused criminal group is now trying to divert the issue. Under the banner of “Faridpur’s Ulama Society and Student Community,” they have called for a human chain tomorrow. Hezbut Tawheed fears that this programme is a cover for planning a large-scale attack on their members and causing damage to life and property.

Already, misleading and provocative statements are being spread on social media, which informed local circles view as an attempt to incite a mob.

In the memorandum, security for Hezbut Tawheed members has been demanded. Additionally, there is a call for the immediate arrest of the accused in the previously filed attack case and for bringing them under the law.

Hezbut Tawheed leaders expressed hope that the administration will take swift and impartial action on the matter, ensuring the continuation of the organization’s peaceful activities and that no criminal escapes justice.
