“Allegation of Attempt to Create Mob Against a ‘Special Group’”

The non-political movement Hezbut Tawheed organized a roundtable meeting with local media professionals in Uttara, Dhaka. The event was held on Thursday (14-05-2026) morning at the conference hall of the organization’s central office in Uttara under the title “Our Proposals for Ensuring Human Rights and Freedom of Speech.”

At the event, the main keynote was presented by Hezbut Tawheed’s top leader Emam Hossain Mohammad Salim. He said that the ongoing political system and state structure in Bangladesh, modeled after the Western world, have failed to ensure human rights and freedom of speech for people. He stated that unless this failed system is changed, human rights can never be established merely through changing individuals or political parties.

He called for establishing the God-given way of life in place of man-made laws in every aspect of life. At the same time, criticizing extremist ideologies, he said that the extremist activities of some people in religious attire are tarnishing the image of Islam. Through misinterpretation of religion, rumors and mobs are being created, causing loss of life and property to people. He commented that Islam never supports such extremist activities.

Emam Hossain Mohammad Salim also alleged that in different parts of the country, a particular group wearing specific attire is trying to create similar mobs against Hezbut Tawheed. He expressed concern over possible loss of life and property of the organization’s members and called for strict intervention from the administration in this regard.

The event was moderated by Hezbut Tawheed’s Joint General Secretary Dr. Mahbub Alam Mahfuz. Others present at the event included the organization’s Joint General Secretaries Md. Moshiour Rahman, Rufaydah Panni and SM. Shamsul Huda; Student Welfare Affairs Secretary Md. Mukhlesur Rahman Sumon; President of Uttara Press club Alauddin Al Ajad; Vice President Md. Ripon Mia; Arif Hossain Chowdhury of Daily jugantor; Shopan Rana of Manob Kontho; Zahid Hasan of Daily Jaijaidin; Mahfuzul Alam Khokon of Daily khola kagoj; Nizam Uddin of Gonokantho News; Abdullah Al Noman of Daily Vorer Pata; Mamunur Rashid Rana of Channel S; and Farid Ahmed Nayan of Asian Television, among others.
