A discussion meeting on the topic ‘What to Do to Tackle Security Threats in Bangladesh’ was organized by the non-political movement Hezbut Tawheed in the capital. The event was held today, Saturday (17 May) at 10:00 AM at the Institution of Diploma Engineers (IDEB).

The chief guest at the event was the supreme leader of Hezbut Tawheed, Imam Hossain Mohammad Salim. In his speech, the chief guest said, the regional political situation in South Asia is becoming increasingly conflict-ridden. There are various religious, geopolitical, and economic reasons behind these conflicts. The interference of powerful arms-dealing and hegemonic wealthy nations is making the situation even more complicated and crisis-prone. There is a war going on in our neighboring country, Myanmar. A war has taken place between India and Pakistan. Conspiracies are also ongoing against Bangladesh. There are many vultures' eyes on this land. We are observing ominous signs in South Asia.

Although India and Pakistan have announced a ceasefire, it is uncertain how long they can maintain it. If there is a war between India and Pakistan, it will affect Bangladesh. Therefore, we too are at security risk.

If a war-like situation arises in Bangladesh, our condition might become like that of the Muslims in Gaza. To escape from this, we must forget sects and schools of thought, put an end to internal conflicts and political infighting, close all paths of division, and build a unified national entity based on the command of one Allah. A unified national entity under one leader will be the only shield for Bangladesh.

The event was presided over by Dr. Mahbub Alam Mahfuz, President of Hezbut Tawheed Dhaka Metropolitan. Special guests who spoke at the event included Hezbut Tawheed’s Central Coordinator Nizam Uddin, Central Women Affairs Secretary Rufaidah Panni, Literary Secretary Riyadul Hasan, Joint Women Affairs Secretary Ayesha Siddika, Dhaka Divisional General Secretary Farid Uddin Rabbani, Central Executive Member Harisur Rahman, Dhaka District President Yunus Mia, Uttara Region President Shahidul Islam, Narayanganj Region President Arif Uddin, Dhaka Metropolitan South President Mezbawul Islam, and Faridpur Region President Mahbubul Alam Nikkon, among others.

The event was moderated by Dhaka Divisional Vice President Al Amin Sabuj.
