Imam Salim Calls for National Unity to Establish the Deen

Hezbut Tawheed Holds Discussion Meeting in Gazipur

GAZIPUR, 11 September 2026: The Gazipur District branch of Hezbut Tawheed today organized a discussion meeting titled “A Call for National Unity to Establish the Deen” at Sagar-Saikat Convention Hall in Gazipur City, where the organization’s Supreme Leader, Imam Hossain Mohammad Salim, called for national unity to establish the Deen of Allah and urged Muslims to overcome sectarian, doctrinal, and ideological differences.

Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Imam Salim said the persecution faced by Muslims around the world is largely rooted in their disunity and internal conflicts. He called on Muslims to set aside differences among sects, schools of thought, and matters of creed and unite without further delay to overcome what he described as their present state of defeat and oppression.

Imam Salim said Islam was revealed for the liberation of humanity and the establishment of peace in society, describing it as a complete way of life given by Allah. He argued that Muslims are now governing their states through man-made systems instead of this divinely ordained way of life, which, he said, has contributed to widespread injustice and unrest. He therefore called for unity to establish the Deen of Allah in national life as a means of overcoming such unrest.

The meeting was chaired by Md. Shariful Islam, President of Hezbut Tawheed’s Gazipur Region. Rufaydah Panni, Joint General Secretary of Hezbut Tawheed and Head of its Women’s Department, also addressed the gathering, focusing on the rights, dignity, and role of women in society.

Rufaydah Panni said women constitute half of the population and noted that women also made up nearly half of the participants at the event. She said attempts to confine women to their homes in the name of Islam do not reflect the teachings of true Islam, but rather represent a distorted interpretation of the religion.

She further said that ensuring women’s honour, dignity, and rights is a responsibility of the state, but successive governments have failed to ensure women’s genuine rights, dignity, and freedom. She argued that neither women nor men can receive their full rights until the state is governed according to the teachings of true Islam, asserting that Islam alone is capable of ensuring the genuine rights and dignity of all.

“Therefore, the foremost need is to establish the Deen of Allah,” she said, calling upon the women members of Hezbut Tawheed to come forward in this cause, following the example of the female Companions of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), and to be prepared to make the highest sacrifices.

The event was attended, among others, by S. M. Shamsul Huda, Joint General Secretary of Hezbut Tawheed; Dr. Mahbub Alam Mahfuz, President of Hezbut Tawheed’s Dhaka Division; Abu Rayhan, President of Hezbut Tawheed’s Gazipur Metropolitan branch; and Ali Akbar Ujjal, President of the Gazipur District branch.

Several thousand leaders and members of Hezbut Tawheed from different parts of Gazipur attended the meeting. The venue was filled to capacity before the scheduled start of the event, while slogans echoed throughout the gathering. Participants expressed their solidarity with Imam Salim’s call and pledged to contribute to the establishment of the Deen by dedicating their lives and resources to the cause.
