The world has been turned into a living hell. Everywhere, the strong oppress the weak, and the wealthy deprive the poor. To escape this state of misery, humanity must abandon man-made systems of life and adopt the system prescribed by Allah—said Imam Hossain Mohammad Selim, the top leader of the non-political movement Hizbut Towheed.
He made these remarks today (Wednesday) as the chief guest at a workers’ conference organized by the movement in Meherpur.
Imam Selim stated, “Imperialist aggression is ongoing across the globe. The Muslim world is suffering the most from this aggression. One after another, Muslim states are being destroyed, and millions of Muslims are being forced to live in inhumane conditions in refugee camps.”
Referring to the situation in Bangladesh, he said it is no exception. “There are uprisings, elections, and successive changes in government. Yet, people are not achieving the desired peace and security. On one hand, there is unemployment; on the other, rising commodity prices have made life extremely difficult for ordinary people.”
He identified the root cause of this unrest as the system of governance left behind by the British. “The political, judicial, and economic structures inherited from the British have completely failed,” he said. He emphasized that replacing these failed man-made systems with the divinely guided system ordained by Allah is now a demand of the time. “Only the proper implementation of Islamic principles can ensure the protection of people’s lives and property,” he added.
The event was chaired by Zahid Mahmud, General Secretary of the Meherpur district unit of the organization. Special guests included Central General Secretary Md. Nizam Uddin, Joint General Secretary Rufaida Ponni, Khulna Divisional President Tanvir Ahmed, Regional President Joseb Uddin, and Shamsuzzaman Milon, among others. Thousands of leaders and activists from various upazilas of Meherpur district attended the program.
